MECOS-C2 system can be used for different types of biospecimen analyses, as investigational as special medical standards restricted.

Hardware&software MECOS-C2 system can be used for natural specimen analyses.

MECOS-C2 software can be used without MECOS-C2 equipment for virtual slides analyses. Only computer is needed for this type virtual technique. The virtual slides for MECOS-C2 analyses can be produced by different types of automated scanners.  MECOS-C2 programs can make cloud analyses if Internet resource MECOS-Virt is used for virtual slides access.

Common properties

Visual control by a doctor of automated cell sorting (galleries on a computer monitor) makes possible  to correct quickly galleries compositions with sorting exactness increase up to 100%.

Compact viewing of cells in galleries increases pathological morphology detection. Analyses norm diapason depending of patient age is tuned automatically.

Statistics gathering for local norm region definition is available. 

Analysis results in standard form can be printed and fixed in database.

Database viewing allows to realize retrospective quality control.

The programs realize automated quality control of blood smear, using measurements of erythrocytes staining and layer thinness in sample gathering region.

The ERYTHROCYTE ANALYSIS (MECOS-ERAì) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope performs dialogue microscopy of stained blood smear.

 

The BLOOD SMEAR ANALYSIS (MECOS-BSAì) program for motorized complete set performs automatic microscopy of a stained blood smear. BSA scans smear by adaptable path and forms samples of leukocytes and erythrocytes of a given volumes. It makes a quantitative evaluation of anysocytosis and poikilocytosis, builds a Price-Jones graph, distribution of the hemoglobin quantity within the erythrocytes, distribution of erythrocytes by the shape, the 8 types formula of the pathological erythrocytes (schizocytes, megalocytes, echinocytes, stomatocytes, elliptocytes, teardrop cells, target cells, bite cells), erythrocyte ellipse coefficient. BSA makes 12 types presorting of leukocytes (segmented neutrophyles, lymphocytes, monocytes, eosinophyles, basophyles, band neutrophyles, blast cells, myelocytes, promyelocytes, metamyelocytes, plasmocytes, atypical lymph0cytes). The HEMO ANALYSIS (MECOS-HEMOI) program for motorized complete set integrates tools of MECOS-BSA and MECOS-FDMM, performs large (up to 5000 cells) all types leukocyte sample gathering or given type leukocyte sample gathering. Lymphocytogram, monocytogram, neutrophilogram (distributions of square, nucleus/cytoplasm ratio, and other morphological parameters) can be calculated.

The RETICULOCYTE ANALYSIS (MECOS-RETAì) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope counts concentration and distribution of reticulocytes in blood smear. If motorized, the technique inputs needed number of field of view in thin part of smear and reticulocyte recognition is performed at multiple focus positions. Automatically detected reticulocytes and erythrocytes are marked. Indexes of Reticulocyte Production (RPI) and Immature Reticulocyte Fraction (IRF ) are calculated.

The PLATELET ANALYSIS (MECOS-PLAì) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope is analogue of MECOS-RETA and is intended for platelet concentration and distribution (square) analysis. Automatically detected platelets and erythrocytes are marked.

 

The MYELOGRAM FORMING (MECOS-MYFì) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope provides with special menus and blanks of standard myelogram forming. The program has embedded marrow cells atlas.

 

The FLOW HEMOANALYZER INTEGRATION (MECOS-FHIì) program  allows to integrate data of MECOS-BSA and laboratory flow hemoanalyzer.

 

Programs for helminth, urine sediment, spermatozoa, bacterial clumps analyses

 

The HELMINTH AND PROTOZOA ANALYSIS (MECOS-HPAì) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope offers menus and blanks of standard helminth and protozoa analysis. The program has embedded helminth and protozoa atlas.

 

The HELMINTH DETECTION (MECOS-HPDì) program for motorized complete set performs automatic screening of a water, excrement or washout specimen with detection of helminth eggs and forming of detected objects gallery for viewing and dialogue classification. The URINE SEDIMENT ANALYSIS (MECOS-USAì) program for motorized complete set is integration of MECOS-VIM program for virtual slide production and special menus and blanks of standard urine sediment analysis. The program has embedded urine sediment atlas.

 

The SPERMATOZOA MOBILITY AND MORPHOLOGY ANALYSIS (MECOS-SMAI) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope:

The BACTERIAL CLUMPS ANALYSIS (MECOS-BCAI) program for macro viewing counts up automatically number of bacterial clumps in Petri dish. The technique works satisfactorily even clumps have different sizes and partially intersected. Every clump is marked by colored dot and user can control and correct result of counting.

 

Multipurpose and research techniques

The ANIMAL BLOOD SMEAR ANALYSIS (MECOS-ABSAI) program for motorized complete set is a version of MECOS-BSA for animal blood smear analysis (rat, mouse, dog, cat, other animals by special order).

The FLUDENSIMORPHOMETRY (MECOS-FDMMI) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope provides means of quantitative analysis of cell and other object morphology, optical density and markers within the specimens of different types. There are means of cell objects boundary highlighting (automated of contrast and semi-automated of poor-contrast boundaries); measurement of more than 20 cell parameters, including optical density, geometrical and textural characteristics, mutual location, angles, fragment and hole quantities, max and min diameters, nucleus/cytoplasm ratio, object field of view concentration. Color fluorescent markers can be consisted with transmitted light images and their concentrations inside segmented objects can be calculated. Other markers such as AgNOR, HER2/neu, Ki-67 also can be segmented and measured.

The FLUDENSIMORPHOMETRY and DIAGNOSTICS (MECOS-FDMMDI) program in addition to tools of MECOS-FDMM can form quantitative diagnostic (differential) decision rules on the base of measurements of object population of a teaching specimen samples. Educable neuron nets are used for rules forming.

The MOBILITY ANALYSIS (MECOS-MAI) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope provides with means of shooting a real-time movie about mobile objects. Parameters of mobility and space distribution are calculated.

The SCREENING and MOBILITY ANALYSIS (MECOS-SMAI) program for motorized MECOS-C2 provides with means of shooting a real-time movie about mobile objects. Shooting can be done automatically in selected points along automatically formed screening path. Parameters of mobility and space distribution are calculated.

The SPHEROMETRY (MECOS-SPHI) program for complete set with manual or motorized microscope realizes automated segmentation and measurement of touching roundish granules forming statistics of diameters. Measurement error is under 2%.
